INGREDIENTS:
For Masala:
Cumin seeds- 1 tbsp
Coriander seeds- 1 tbsp
Fennel seeds- 1 tbsp
Asafoetida- 1/4 tsp
Turmeric powder – 1/4 tsp
Salt as per taste
Sugar powder as per taste (optional)
Dry mango powder- 1/2 tsp (optional)
Green chilli chopped- 1 tbsp
Curry leaves- 10-15
For Chiwda:
Flattened rice/ poha – 2 cups
Ghee/ oil for frying
Masala
Peanuts- 1/2 cup
Cashew nuts- 1/2 cup
Almonds- 1/2 cup
Roasted gram- 1/2 cup
Raisins- 2 tbsp
Dry coconut slices- 1/2 cup (optional)
RECIPE:
For Masala, take a bowl, put Cumin, coriander, fennel seeds, asafetida and keep it aside
Take a pan, add ghee/oil, add spice mix, chopped green chilli, curry leaves, salt, turmeric powder.
For Chivda Namkeen, take thin or medium Flattened Rice/ Poha. Sieve & roast them properly on slow flame.Fry Peanuts, Coconut Slices(optional) Cashews, Almonds, roasted gram/ chana dal separately. You can skip or add anything as per your taste. Later add roasted poha, fried items, raisins, masala and mix together properly. Also you can add powdered sugar, & dry mango powder for extra flavor (optional). Tasty Chivda is ready to be enjoyed with a cup of tea. Enjoy it for a long time by keeping it in an airtight jar.
